Usually, the only brand anyone can think of when the words “stick vacuum” are mentioned is Dyson. There’s absolutely no denying the tremendous quality and performance of Dyson vacuums. However, there are quite a few brands that can compete directly with Dyson in terms of quality. One such company is Dibea.

Dibea is another manufacturer coming straight from China. This company has more than a decade’s worth of experience in producing impressive vacuum cleaners, sticks and robots alike. One of Dibea’s previous models – the C17 – has been somewhat of a surprise in how to is a worthy competitor to Dyson’s V7 and V8.

Whisper Quiet
Not literally, of course, but you get the idea. The D18’s two cleaning modes produce very similar noise levels. On LOW POWER mode, this stick vacuum produces about 60 decibels, and on HIGH POWER mode, it measures at only 15 decibels louder! On HIGH POWER mode, you’ll still scare kids and pets with the vacuum’s droning, but at least you won’t deafen yourself.
One might question whether a soundless (for a vacuum cleaner) stick vac can actually suction up dirt and embedded particles in rugs. We assure you that there’s nothing to worry about.
The D18 comes with two suctioning levels – LOW POWER and HIGH POWER. This stick vacuum suctions at 4,000 pa and 9,000 pa on LOW and HIGH respectively. This is a respectable amount of power and should fare well in most vacuuming jobs.

Admittedly, between 4,000 and 9,000 pa, it’s not the best, especially compared to pricier models (we’re looking at you, Dyson), but it’s still sufficient in picking up stray particles and hair. You can improve the suction ability of the D18 during particular cleaning jobs by attaching one of the attachments (crevice nozzle, 2-in-1 bristle brush, mini brush).
Multi-Surface Brush
Despite the somewhat lackluster suction power, one thing that we absolutely love about the D18 is its multi-surface brush. No longer will you need to switch out brushes when switching between carpeted and hardwood or tiled surfaces. Just let the motorized brushes do the loosening of debris for you as the vacuum head sucks up most of the dust in a single pass.
4-Stage Filtration System
The D18 is equipped with a 4-stage filtration system which prevents even the tiniest particles from leaking out of the dustbin. After any floor debris gets picked up by the suction head, it passes through a stainless steel mesh and cyclone separator. The separator splits up the debris based on size, where the larger particles fall back down into the dustbin, and microscopic dust gets stuck in the dense cotton filter.
Like many other stick vac models on the market, the D18 comes with a handy wall mount. We recommend placing the wall mount near a power outlet so you can charge the vacuum cleaner when it’s not in use. Don’t expect anything too fancy from the wall mount like charging capabilities – it’s a piece of plastic that sticks to a wall and nothing more.\

Run Time
The D18 doesn’t have the best runtime, but it’s enough to get a ton of work done in a large area. When running LOW POWER and HIGH POWER modes, you’ll get roughly 45 minutes and 25 minutes of work respectively.
The D18 comes with a single 2,200 mAh Li-Ion battery. To fully charge the battery from 0%, it’ll take roughly 5 hours. After waiting 5 hours, the battery won’t last you an hour. We recommend getting additional batteries from Dibea if you’d like to keep downtime to a minimum.
We also like the fact that the D18 has a gauge which lets you know how much battery is left. You can find the battery gauge on the handle.
LED Lights
There’ll be times when you need to do some cleaning in poorly lit areas such as under sofas, beds, and in closets. The D18 comes with a sufficiently bright LED light on the vacuum head. This’ll help you locate where all the dust bunnies are hiding.
Accessories
If you’ve ever owned a battery-powered vacuum cleaner, then you already know that the cleaner parts can wear out somewhat easily. The D18 is no exception, so we recommend taking a look at replacement accessories when the time comes. You can even purchase HEPA filters for this stick vacuum if you need to trap pet dander and other microscopic allergens.

Weight
Cordless stick vacuums are supposed to be lightweight in order for you to vacuum high places without throwing you off your balance. This stick vacuum, fully assembled, only weighs around 4.8 pounds. This is about 1 pound lighter than the C17, and that was extremely light already.
This is not the lightest stick vacuum out there, but it won’t cause any fatigue when cleaning vacuuming up dust from your curtains or on high shelves.
One of the most annoying things when vacuuming is when you’re in the middle of your vacuuming groove, and the dustbin is full. This means heading to the nearest bin and emptying out the bin. The D18 comes with a large 0.55-liter dustbin. Of course, you’ll still have to empty out the bin every so often, but at least you can work for longer without interruption.
Dibea D18: Final Remarks
We were blown away by the C17’s performance. However, even though the updated version – the Dibea D18 Stick Vacuum – is a respectable stick vacuum cleaner, it’s just a bit underwhelming in terms of performance. What one must remember is that this isn’t a pricy model; in fact, you can pick this up for less than a Benjamin at most retailers.
For most vacuuming jobs around the home, this tool will work well enough to pick up most of the debris in a single pass. Make sure you have the right nozzle for the right job to improve suctioning power and cleaning performance.
